Unless you date someone born on your own birthday, someone in the relationship is going to be older than the other. Question is, how big of an age difference is too big? Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are fifteen years apart, with Demi the elder statesman of the pair. George Clooney is eitghteen years older than his latest girlfriend. Is the older men younger women trend more acceptable than older women younger men? And who, in the end, should be bothered? I’m a man in my 40s and I’ve had lovers in my 20s, but I never seriously dated someone with that big of an age difference from me. We’re at different life stages. It doesn’t work.

Huh? Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom apparently got hitched. And why do we care? OMG wrote about the Kardashian-Odom wedding. Apparently they met at a party – one month ago. Talk about whirlwind romance. But, again… why do we care?

If it was Kim Kardashian, then I might be interested. I still wouldn’t care, but I’d be interested. I’d wonder what sort of wedding dress she put on that gorgeous Kardashian butt.

I was sorry to hear Ted Kennedy passed away. I’m grateful for his lifetime of service and commitment to our country. I’m also totally impressed by the Kennedy clan, and how they gave so much of their time and energy to the US. (I’m sure there was plenty in it for them. But there’s plenty in it for anyone who does anything. We all make choices.) He was married twice, to Joan and Vicki. May Ted Kennedy rest in peace.

Squeaky Fromme just got released from prison. Remember her? I was a teen back then. I totally remember reading in Newsweek about her assasination attempt on President Ford. I thought she was nuts. Maybe she was. Maybe she still is. I guess I figured they’d never let her out.

Summer sun makes me think of Mexico, and that makes me think of tequila. On one particular trip to Cabo, I did way too many straight shots of Patron. (Who hasn’t?) I was in my twenties then. These days, I prefer a great margarita recipe, rocks and salt. I was never a fan of the Tequila sunrise. Too much work to prepare. Though if someone gave me one, I’d probably drink it. As for body shots… fun, if she’s cute. (ha)

Angelina Jolie is hot as that creature in Beowulf. Sure, they might have digitally enhanced her a bit, but she has nice hips and curves and looks great. I saw her in Wanted, and wondered where the curves went. She’s too skinny! Just a stick figure, no hips, all shoulders. Like an anorexic model, not like a healthy woman, let alone goddess figure. Yeah, I’m being super critical. But she makes a fortune from her looks.

What makes a good overall rider in the Tour de France? Body type is part of the equation. Shorter, lighter cyclists like Alberto Contador and Levi Leipheimer can fly up the mountains. Taller heavier riders like Fabian Cancellera do well in the time trials. Someone with medium height and weight usually has a good chance overall. How tall is Lance Armstrong and how heavy is he? Medium height, medium weight. After Saturday’s mountain stage, Armstrong sits in 2nd place. Look for his teammate, Contador, who is a gifted climber and the time trial champion of Spain, to win it all.

The animated show Family Guy got an Emmy nod? I’ve never even watched. And I’m a dad. Go figure.
